Directors
Brian Lazarro

Brian began directing music videos in Los Angeles at the age of 24.  The
second clip he directed,“Portions For Foxes” for  indie rock band  Rilo
Kiley, was nominated  for MVPA’s  Rock Video Of The Year  in 2006.

With over 25 rock videos under his belt, the 28 year-old  director is
looking forward to bringing his fresh photographic approach to the country
scene.

He began studying photography and filmmaking at an early age and worked extensively in Public TV documentaries in Poughkeepsie, New York.   Prior to graduating from  NYU  Film and Television School in 2003,

Brian was awarded funding from a Warner Bros Production Grant and his thesis "Navigator," earned him a Grand Prize award at the New Jersey International Film Festival.

After graduating from NYU, Brian was fortunate to get an assistant position
for legendary music video director Samuel Bayer and gradually built his
video reel while working for Bayer.

Brian discussed his experiences working for Sam in an interview with Shoot
Magazine, when he was featured in their 2006 New Directors Showcase:

"Sam DP’s his own stuff, so working for him was a dual education for me.  His sets, from numerous commercials to Greenday’s concert film “Bullet in A Bible”, were the ideal place to build on my knowledge about camera
operating, lenses, lighting, everything.   The great thing about Sam is that
he does it all and he’s aggressive – always pushing the envelope further for
a better composition or performance – I’ve learned its those details that
make the work stand out. “

Currently Brian lives in Los Angeles, where he recently finished two videos
for the band Rooney on Geffen Records.   He is also preparing to shoot the
next national Vegas.com commercial – a result of winning the Cine Vegas film festival for his spot “The All Nighter”.
